What is saved for each flow?
Each captured version includes its name, on/off state, flow definition and connection references. Find a previous configuration and compare versions when a change disrupts a business process.
The backup covers cloud flow definitions in connected Power Automate environments. It does not back up the connections themselves, passwords, tokens, run history or data in underlying systems. Desktop flows and a complete Power Platform environment are outside this description.
Capturing and comparing versions
During a backup run, DataVault365 checks the connected flows. A changed definition creates a new saved version. The portal shows version history and differences; unchanged content does not need another full copy each time.
This requires suitable environment permissions and access to the flow definition. We check access and the initial capture during setup. A flow deleted before its first successful backup cannot be recovered from this backup retrospectively.
Preparing recovery and checking connections
Select the saved definition first. Restoring through the portal requires an authorised Microsoft user with appropriate rights in the target environment. Recovery options and their operation are checked when your environment is configured.
When created as a new flow, the restored flow is switched off. Its owner checks connections, permissions and behaviour before enabling it. Replacing an existing definition is a deliberate choice: identify the version you intend to restore in advance.
Connection references do not restore secrets. Connections may need to be linked again. Test a restored flow with controlled input before using it.

Power Automate backup is included in Compliance from € 5.95 per user per month, excluding VAT and billed annually. The plan includes retention up to seven years and 100 GB of stored backup data per user, pooled across the organisation.

Questions about Power Automate backup
Are connector passwords included?
No. The backup contains the definition and connection references, not the passwords or tokens used by those connections.
Does a restored new flow start immediately?
No. Recovery as a new flow leaves it switched off so its owner can check connections and behaviour first.
